Hole #13
Ah yes, hole 13, the number one stroke hole. Everything is going great with your round right? Let’s see how we are after finishing up this hole. Looks easy. Straight out, straight up the hill to the green. Well, it usually isn’t. You have to get off the tee well here. Too far left and your second shot is restricted, or worse yet you found the hazard. Too far right and you may end up in a retention pond between the 13th and 14 fairways. Too long and you are in a hazard. Just right and your all smiles as you think about your second shot. Pay attention to the course conditions as in wet times there will be standing water in places and soft conditions.
Your second shot to the green will have to be a little guarded due to woods lines on both sides, a hazard running up the right side, and heavy rough and woods behind the green that slopes from back to front. This green is two tier so it is important to be on the correct tier as you will see when you get to the green. There is little room to miss this green left, right, or long, and if you are long, it is difficult to hold the green when you have to come on from short distances. A par here feel like a birdie on any other hole.
