Hole #15
Hole number fifteen is the first of two par fives on the back nine. As you stand on the tee box, you cannot see your landing area, but it looks wide open doesn’t it. Well it is, but there are hazard lines that run the length of the hole on either side and there is a pond in the distance that long hitters may reach. Your play off the tee is will be to land your shot on the right side of the fairway as it does slope right to left a bit.
Your second shot up the hill should also be biased toward the right side of the fairway in order to block out the bunker that is positioned in the center to left side approach to the green. If you are successful in landing on the right side of the fairway, you will have the option to run your ball up or fly it into the green, otherwise you may have to come over the top of the bunker to access the pin. This green slopes moderately to heavily from back to front. Missing left isn’t too bad but the lie will be thin on that side. Missing long or right will leave a difficult shot to the green due to the slope of the green.
