Hole #8
As you get to the eighth tee box, now is a good time to contact the snackbar at 603-279-6661 to put in a sandwich order if you are getting hungry and want to grab something quick and satisfying at the turn.
Hole Number eight is the second of two par fives on the front nine and a great hole to let the driver shaft out a little. Although landing left of the cart path, or right of the right side fairway bunker can pose issues, you have room to let it go. Don’t be too worried about landing in one of the fairway bunkers, unless you end up at the front edge of them, as they are reasonably flat and usually firm enough to play a fairway wood or hybrid out of and get distance.
If you did get off the tee well and are adjacent to or beyond the fairway bunkers, this is a good time to let it fly again and try to get to the green in two. This green is elevated, at the top of the hill, and not very large, but it can be done. Missing left or right isn’t too bad but you will end up in heavy rough on either side with a shot over or from a bunker from the left side for your third shot. Missing too long makes for a tough third shot from heavy rough and your ball will have a tendency to run off the front of the green as the green slopes from back to front.
